Pallavur is a small village, situated 20 km west of Palakkad town. Agriculture is the main occupation of the folk, and it is a backward area. This village had only one Lower Primary School. For Higher education, students had to go to nearby villages and towns.

In October 1970, feeling the dire need for a high school in Pallavur, some educated gentlemen of the village formed themselves into a People"s Education Society to start an English Medium School. Land was donated by the Ullatil Family of Pallavur to the extent of 12.03 acres .Donation in kind and cash were collected from Pallavur and other parts of Kerala and outside. With the funds and Materials thus generated over the years, one tiled building with seven rooms was built on the donated plot.

As the society had no funds and could not go forward any more, they approached H.H.Swami Chinmayananda of Chinmaya Mission, who was in Kerala at that time, with a request to take over the property and establish a good school in Pallavur . He agreed. Consequent to this development, a Chinmaya Trust was formed in Pallavur, after dissolving the Peoples Education Society. The trust took over the property and started a school, in the same building which was inaugurated by Sri. M. Sivarama Menon, Vice president of Chinmaya Mission, Palakkad on 30th May 1974. Classes V & VI were the first classes to function in the school. Nursery classes (LKG/UKG) were also included.
